STAGE 3


The Game

The Laws of rugby apply with the following exceptions.

1.
A team consists of 10 players, five backs and five forwards. The position are scrum-half, out half, centre, right wing, left wing, loose head prop, hooker, tight head prop, right lock, left lock. Replacements for injured players are permitted.
2.
Pitch size (see diagram).
3. a) A kick-off is taken by a place kick from the centre. At the Kick off players must retire behind the kicker and the opposition 10m from the ball.
3. b) If a kick-off is kicked dead then the opposition can choose between a re-kick or a scrum at the half way mark.
4.
Kicking the ball outside the defensive 10-m line is illegal. If the offence is unintentional, a scrum is awarded; if intentional, a penalty is awarded.
5.
Penalties are taken by a pass-off, the opposition being 10 meters back from the mark. A player from the non-offending team simply taps the ball off the ground with the side of the foot and then passes to the teammate. At the pass off the ball must be passed,THE PLAYER PASSING THE BALL MAY NOT RUN WITH THE BALL HIMSELF/ HERSELF.
6.
Line out 5 man, with both hookers at the front of the line out.The ball must be thrown to the players in the line out and the jump can be contested.A space of one meter (arms length) must be between all players in the line out and the line out is over when the ball leaves the line out - no lifting allowed.
7.
Scrum (5 man,) and no sustained push only one step.The strike might be contested in a backwards action, should the opposition kick the ball forward a penalty will be awarded. Scrum is over when the ball is in the hand of the scrum half. Defending scrum half behind his forward. No follow around allowed.
8.
Rucks and mauls 5 sec. use it or loose it.
