On Monday evening in Coonagh the seconds rounded off the quintet of matches with an excellent win over Young Munster by 16-12 in yet another tight encounter. Again it was an excellent display from the pack that paved the way for the victory, but this time it was the backs that took the scoring plaudits. A year in Canada did little to quell the talents of Catha O’Neill , who crashed over for a first half try and with Ben Sargent as per usual in fine kicking form adding the conversion and a further two penalties. On the scoreboard and on the field there was little to separate the sides at half time and only a slender 13-12 lead was held at the break, but like the seconds a few days previous, we crucially managed to keep Young Munster scoreless in the second half and add to our tally. Another penalty from Ben extended the lead, but the threat was always present right up to the final whistle, but justifiably the lads recorded their first win of the season.
