Our firsts had a good outing in the league this weekend. We returned to Coonagh as the Munster match in Thomond Park forced a change of venue. On a freezing cold day in Coonagh, the lads put on a great display. Tries from Ty Chan, Lee Nicholas, Shane Mullally and Ronan McKenna secured the try bonus point and a 59th minute penalty from Old Wesley meant we were unlucky not to come away with the win. It was a great display of rugby from the lads who displayed great heart and determination on the day. Come along and offer your support for the final match before Christmas in Galway this Saturday.

Our 20s took on UL Bohs in the Donal Walsh on the 4g pitch. It was difficult match for the lads who were down a man from early in the game. They showed fantastic grit and never took the foot off the pedal even when the chips were down. While the result didn’t go the lads way we are really proud of how they dug deep on the day. Onwards and upwardslads!

The thirds travelled to Kilaloe to play Scariff this weekend. They have gone from strength to strength in the Gleeson League this year and this weekend was no exception. After a tough match the lads came out victorious by a score line of 17-10. Well worked tries from Tom O’Neill and Ronan O’Doherty as well as conversions and a penalty from pat Power was enough to see the lads through and they will be looking forward to this weekends fixture in Coonagh.

Out Ladies had a tough fixture this weekend taking on table toppers Thurles. Thurles are the only side our ladies have lost to so far this season so it was always to be a toughly fought affair. In a match that saw neither side budge and a massive battle of the forwards, Lea O’Dwyer was the only try scorer going over in the 78th minute to secure the match for Shannon who won by a score line of 5-3.

Our u11s had a great day on Saturday where they got the opportunity to play in Thomond Park at half time of the Munster v Treviso match! The lads had a ball on the day and got on really well in their match v Nenagh! Well done lads!!
