The Club Pavilion was built in the 66/67 season, with the official opening as shown here in the program, on Tuesday 26th December 1967.It was built mainly with voluntary labour from club members young and old.The opening ceremony was accompanied by an exhibition match between a Shannon selection and the 'Cuchulainns' won by Shannon 22-3. Official Opening of New Pavilion (1967) Match program from 1949 Another program cover, this time from a match against Queen's University in December 1949, played at Thomond Park.
Within 10 years the clubhouse  was outgrown and an extension was added to the Pavilion in 1978.  Exerpt from Committee meeting held on 8/11/49:
"J.B. Neiland proposed and T.Daly seconded, that a grip be purchased for purpose of carrying jerseys. Mr A. McConkey proposed and S.Fitzgerald seconded that, in place of a grip, a haversack be purchased. On a devision ,it was decided to purchase a haversack. Hon Treasurer to prduce same."
