Hi all, Please find attached our September Newsletter here covering all news and social events in our club over the last month. We have had a busy month in the club so it’s bursting with info waiting to be read - Enjoy!!
Our firsts had a tough day in the second league match away to Buccaneers in Dubarry park conceding the match 27-3. The score line would suggest that the match was worse than it was, the fact of the matter is that while Buccaneers to their credit were incredibly strong in attack; Shannon put it up to them and matched them up front. Discipline on the day put us under pressure and Buccaneers capitalized on this and did the job they needed to. A full match report can be found here. Onwards to Ballynahinch this weekend and as always we will offer live tweets to keep you all informed.
Our seconds welcomed Thomond to Coonagh in the first Seconds League match of the year. It was an entertaining match with a solid display of rugby put in from the lads. Well done to Jack Stafford who bagged himself a hat trick!! Match center info for the game here.
The 20s had mixed fortunes in the Blitz in Cork. They beat Dolphin well in their first match but went down to Highfield in the second match. It’s all up to play for in the second Blitz in Coonagh this weekend. Head on out to Coonagh to support the lads.
Our Ladies had a testing day in Thurles. The match was a tough encounter which became a battle of the forwards. Thurles got an unconverted try just before half time and the second half continued in the same vein as the first. It was a battle of wits for a finish and Thurles only got into Shannon’s half once to score a penalty. Shannon kept the pressure on and were unlucky to come away from the match without a score. The final score finished up 8-0.
Our underage had a fantastically successful weekend with the New Members open day. Read all about it on our newsletter! It really was a great day for the club and there was a great buzz about the place. Our u13s were very successful on the day too winning both matches they played.
