Hi all, with October passing us by in a blur, we are well and truly on our way to winter. The cold weather that we have managed to avoid thus far is slowly creeping into Coonagh and making nights at training that bit longer as well as this the beginnings of a light frost have been seen on the pitches in Coonagh on a Sunday morning.

It was unfortunate news from our Senior side who took to the road to head to Cork to take on UCC in the League. Again we picked up injuries not only in the match but also in training prior to the match. We wish all injured lads the best of luck in their recoveries. The match was a tough one that was high in handling errors from both sides. Read the match report here.

Our u20s suffered similar fate as they welcomed Sundays Well to Coonagh on Saturday. The lads were comfortable in the match and as it progressed, it looked that they were going to win the match well. We were in the lead coming up to the final minutes of the match when a momentary lapse in concentration saw Sundays Well score a converted try in the last play of the game which was enough to see them emerge victorious from the encounter with a score line of 14-8.

Our Thirds had better fortunes this weekend and came away from their Gleeson League match v St. Mary’s with a victory on Saturday. The lads also played in Coonagh and were well in control with the match ending up 26-5.

Our Ladies match v Richmond was re-fixed for this weekend, the local derby takes place in the Canal bank on Sunday at 1pm.
Our u18s girls were also in Coonagh on Saturday and welcomed Newport for a 12.30 kick off. Well worked tries from Orla Curtin and Aoife Walsh with Orla Curtin also in good kicking form saw the match end 20-0 in our favor.

Don’t forget to book a spot for our pre-match function for this weekend’s match versus Dolphin. The same value as usual applies with three courses for 20. The events are really taking off and we have been fully booked out for the last two, and places are already filling up for this week, dont forget to pre-book your seat! Call Kevin: 087-4187385 or email to book a place.

There are also a few places available for the Maori game on the 11th of November. The marquee has been erected outside our clubhouse and it is seriously impressive. Contact Kevin for more details!

The lotto for the last week showed no winners.

For the 28th of October the numbers drawn were; 03, 17, 19, 21 and consolation prizes of €50 went to:

Peter Clein c/o Club
Jane Kennedy c/o Tadhg Crowe
John Kavanagh c/o Mall Ba

Next week’s draw is for €4, 200 and will be held in Fla's on the 03rd November.
