Michael Moylett was the 5th Shannon player to be capped for Ireland. A native of Ballina, Co.Mayo, and Mick joined Shannon in 1981 and won a Munster Senior cup medal that season. Whilst in school in Castleknock, he was a schools international on three occasions. After winning B caps in 1982 and ‘83, he played a U/25 International against Canada in 1986. It took a further two years for the second row to win his only Irish cap in the 1988 five nations game against England. The match was played in Twickenham and Ireland lost heavily by 35 points to 3. Irelands only score came from a Brendan Mullin drop goal. Mick toured with Ireland in the same year on a five-match tour of France.
