Shannon partners with Ashcoin

Shannon RFC is delighted to announce Ashcoin, the complete solutions company to the construction industry as an exclusive associate sponsor.

The sponsorship will see the Ashcoin brand positioned on the back of the famous Shannon jersey as well as on perimeter boards at all Shannon home matches.

While the sponsorship begins this season there is already an existing link between Shannon and Ashcoin.  Mick Galwey, Director of Rugby at Shannon is also Business Development Director at Ashcoin.  Galwey has been associated with Shannon as player, captain and coach since 1988 and he has been working with Ashcoin for four years and was recently appointed to the Board.

At the announcement of the sponsorship, Sean Cullinan, Director of Ashcoin said, "We are delight to sponsor Ireland's most ambitious and successful club.   At Ashcoin we are a young company but very ambitious, a trait we certainly share with Shannon Rugby Club. Ashcoin recently opened a new office in Ennis and with the help of our Business Development Director, Mick Galwey we plan to expand our presence across the Munster and Mid West.  Shannon has always had players from across these areas and we see a great fit between our brand and that of Shannon RFC."

Shannon President, Tommy Rowan welcomed Ashcoin as an exclusive associate sponsor, "At Shannon we are delighted to be partnering with Ashcoin, with Mick Galwey as the natural link between the two entities I would like to think we can both look forward to a very successful partnership.  Sponsorship is critical to keeping Shannon where its supporters and players expect it to be, that is to continue to be Ireland's most successful Club.  We are very greatful for Ashcoin's support."

Also speaking at the launch of the sponsorship was Mick Galwey, "It has been an exciting and busy time with my recent appointment to the Board of Ashcoin and on the rugby front we have had a very good start to the season, winning our first three matches.  At Shannon we set very high standards because our tradition demands it.  This season we have managed to hold on to our players and I would like to think we have recruited well in the off season.  It is early in the season but I want to see us pushing for the top honours next Spring.
